The input and output current of UPS is an important index to reflect the performance of ups in real time. The input current reflects the efficiency and power factor of UPS power supply, and the output current reflects the output capacity of UPS inverter.
For the same power ups, the smaller the input current, the higher the efficiency. The traditional power frequency UPS power supply input circuit uses diode and silicon controlled rectifier, the power factor is only about 0.6-0.7, and the current peak value is high, so the effective value current is large. However, this kind of rectification circuit pollutes the network greatly and causes n-line overload. The new generation UPS, such as SPM series and other high-frequency UPS power supply, uses IGBT active rectification for input, and the power factor is above 0.9 to eliminate the pollution to the power grid.
The output current reflects the output capacity of ups. If the rated output power of UPS is 3000va / 2000W and the output power factor is 0.67, the output current of UPS inverter is 3000va / 220V = 13.6a. The output power factor is 0.67, which shows that the inverter has strong output current capacity and high peak factor, which is suitable for computer load. Using PFC technology, the input power factor is 0.98 and the output power factor is low. If the power factor is 0.67, the input current is 10.7a and the output current is 13.6a, then the input current is less than the output current, which reflects that this kind of UPS power supply is an energy-saving product. The UPS power supply greatly improves the power factor of the computer, reduces the distribution loss and eliminates the pollution to the power grid.
